COLOMBO (Information 1st) The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, the Governor of the Central Financial institution, Deputy Governors, and associates of the Monetary Board have been summoned before the Parliamentary Committee on Community Finance on the 1st of April 2022.
The Chairman of the committee, M.P Anura Priyadarshana stated that despite the fact that the officers were being knowledgeable to appear right before the committee on the 24th March 2022, they did NOT attend.
The Chairman of the Committee further more mentioned that he expressed his displeasure in excess of the predicament.
Accordingly, the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Deputy Governors, and members of the Monetary Board have been instructed to appear right before the Committee on General public Finance on the 1st of April at 10 AM.
On 25th March 2022, Sri Lanka’s Central Lender Governor observed that NO disrespect was supposed on Parliament’s Committee on Public Finance, for not showing right before them.
Samagi Jana Balavegaya MP Dr. Harsha De Silva on Thursday (24) discovered in Parliament that the Central Bank Governor and the Financial Board ended up instructed by the Committee on General public Finance to show up prior to the committee to examine the VAT boosts, having said that, they disregarded the notice and unsuccessful to surface.
“This is an insult to Parliament,” reported De Silva.
